Four Months to Go!

I was just informed that I only have 4 months until my wedding. Now, this wouldn't be such a big deal if I was AWARE that I only had 4 months. For some reason, about 2months ago I just stopped counting down. Therefore, I've been telling everyone that I have 6 months to go - for the last 2 months! It didn't even occur to me that time was passing.

It was one of 'fiance's' friends that decided to break the news to me. And when I told him I thought it was 6, he looked at me like I was crazy. Problem is, 'fiance's' friends ALREADY think I"m crazy, so this has not helped my cause.

I'd better get crackin'!

SEX AND THE CITY (I won't spoil it)

I saw the SEX AND THE CITY movie last night! Please do NOT believe what you read b/c the reviews are saying it's horrible! I completely disagree! It was amazing. There was an energy that I've never felt b/f in a movie experience. I felt like one of those Star Wars weirdos or the Harry Potter geeks (don't take offense b/c I'm kind of a Bourne freak).

People in the theater were laughing, cheering, clapping, crying (except for the guys who's girlfriend's dragged them along - poor guys).

I don't consider myself a girly girl, but last night I was one of the girls and it was so fun! When the opening music came on and people were cheering and clapping I wanted to poke my eyes out thinking, who are these obsessed psychos? Get a life.

But by somewhere in the middle I was an obsessed psycho! (Not that that's so different than my daily life)!

Samantha's character stole the show - she was funny, warm, and right on cue the entire movie. I've always liked her character on the show, but she was never my favorite - in the movie, she was my absolute FAVE!

You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll clap, you'll see a full frontal. ENJOY!

My Hero

I am obsessed with Guitar Hero. Not only am I obsessed, but I'm also pretty damn good at it. I rock out.

I had only played it once (and wasn't a fan) before fiance's little cousins brought it to our house one weekend. Once I saw these kids (and their parents) rockin' out I wanted to see if I could too - they made it look so fun and easy! Fiance and I fell in love with the game and bought it the next day for the Wii. It comes with plain white guitars and stickers so you can decorate them however you want. Can I just please say that my guitar is awesome. I put the devil horns sticker up on the top of the guitar so that between songs I lift it up and wave it in everyone's face w/ my tongue out and making a wehhhhhh sound (which is supposed to sound like a very high pitched guitar sound, being whammied course, if you catch my drift).

I play it so much, my house is a mess, I forget to eat, I never go to sleep, my plants are dead, I smell b/c I refuse to shower, and I'm thinking about growing my hair longer and getting more tattoos.

This is fiance and I rockin' out with the cousin's guitars the day before GH-Day (The day we bought our own Guitar Hero).
And this is me being awesome.

Kimmmberly

Just to change it up and keep things interesting, I've started straightening my hair again. It's only been a couple weeks, but this morning fiance said to me, "I love that you're doing your hair again every day, it looks HOT!" And because I don't know how to just say thank you and prefer to be a pain in the ass, I responded with a, "What? I didn't look hot before?" (pretending to be offended). To which he replied, "Of course you did, you just looked like Kim, now you look like Kimmmmberly." Can you hear the growl when he says Kimmmmberly? It was that, 'if I didn't already have one foot out the door and my back pack on, I might not be leaving quite so soon this morning' kind of Kimmmberly.

Look out Kim! Kimmmmmberly is here to stay! (until she gets lazy again...)

Wow, I'm pretty w/ straight hair...Botox and all.

Have a Marvy Day!

This morning in the elevator a man in a beret (an American man) told me to "have a marvy day."
Umm...why the beret? Why "marvy?"

Look out Jay-Z

At this point in my blogging career, I've had more comebacks than Jay-Z and Michael Jordon put together. So on that note, let's not make a big deal of it, bitches.

A few fun things that have happened in the past few months...
1. I got a new job - it's going well, thanks.
2. I've started wearing purple eye-liner, and so far it's been a hit.
3. I've joined Facebook and have become more obsessed with it than I ever was w/ myspace. Obsessed.
4. Greek and Gossip Girl are my new fave shows of the moment. Something about those G's that does it for me. (Get your mind out of the gutter).
5. My bunions have protruded a bit more. And I think I'm getting a corn on my right pinky toe. Good times.
6. I had a physical for the first time in a few years and found out that my cholesterol is a little high. WTF?! Does this mean I have to cut down on cheese? I love cheese.
7. Oh yeah - I GOT ENGAGED! Check me out!

I Lied Just a Little...

We didn't end up going to Pegu Club after all. 'Boyfriend' and I started walking there when we realized it was way too far from the restaurant to walk to on empty-food, liquor-filled tummies. Instead we went to Pravda, a Russian Vodka bar that 'boyfriend' knew about from years ago (I was v. impressed w/ him that he had this tidbit of info he had never mentioned. (Usually it's me, well Richard, that has all the cool bar/restaurant info.) Anyhoo, Pravda was awesome. I highly recommend. Get the crab cakes.

As far as Peasant goes, I am too lazy to review it right now...but it rocked. Go there. Do it. Get the sardines (no joke) and the pasta w/ lobster. Mmmmm, and did I mention they serve their bread w/ ricotta cheese instead of butter? Well they do. Enjoy!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Happy Birthday, Old Man! Love you!

We're going to Peasant tonight for dinner w/ his fam, drinks beforehand at Pegu Club. Full reports tomorrow...

Read the Fine Print

A co-worker of mine set up a fun skating event last week that I was very excited to attend! Unfortunately, work stuff came up and I couldn't go. Very disappointing. However, to show my support, I finished up my work as quickly as possible and decided to stop by the skating rink on my walk home.

I raced over to the rink in Central Park and schmoozed my way in without having to pay. The security guard thought I was quite sketchy trying to sneak in, but I assured him that my "group" was inside skating and that I just wanted to watch. I told him how I had to work late and couldn't make it here on time to skate...blah blah...(you know how I ramble on...)

He must've felt sorry for me or something b/c he found the manager for me to talk to. I told Mr. Manager the same thing...my group is inside...I just wanted to watch...and he let me in. Score!

Once I'm in I start scouting out the place for people that I know. Hmm, there's a hockey practice taking place on one side of the ice, and on the other...kids w/ their moms. Umm...

So I called a co-worker who I knew would still be in the office. Where is our group skating, I asked her. To which she replied, Rockefeller Center.

And you know how the rest of the story goes...I am a dumbass.

One Eye Open

This morning I showed boyfriend the window where I hit my head . I pointed out how the glass was in front of the gate and how clean it was and everything. And instead of sympathy (like I was expecting), he told me I was the biggest dork ever.

I'd keep one eye open while you sleep from now on, honey.

C is For CANDY

There is WAY TOO MUCH candy in the office right now, and I have no willpower whatsoever. If you haven't seen me in a while, why don't we keep it that way so that I have time to put on about 10 lbs over the next few months and then lose it again come the New Year. I wouldn't want you to see me too chunkalicious.

I'll miss you.

Focus on One Point

In yoga class last night there was a very impressive yogi in front of me. He was extremely flexible and could do anything and everything and all of his moves were very precise and graceful. I couldn't stop watching him.

Towards the end of every class we do poses lying down, one of them (which I hate), is the bow pose. We have to do it at least 3 times, and I suck at it b/c I can’t hold it w/o nearly passing out. The instructor always says to focus on one point and let your mind convince you that your body is light and the pose is graceful and easy. So I focused on the yogi in front of me.

BAD IDEA. This is when I realize he had on very short shorts. Without any undies. This gives a whole new meaning to the words yoga balls. Ummm...yeah, I don't think I need to tell you all the things that were in full view. So I looked for another point to focus on. But you know how it is...it’s like watching a dog take a dump on the sidewalk...the more you try to look away the more you can’t help but look!

So I thought, “Hey, if focusing on his naughty bits is going to keep me in this pose, so be it!”

Beware of Glass

In NYC you're never alone. There are always at least 20 people (I made that number up) around you at any given moment, even at night. I was walking home from the gym the other night and spied a pair of sunglasses in a storefront that I thought might look pretty on me. So I leaned in for a closer look and SMASHED my forehead on the glass. Why I felt the need to dive in so forcefully, I do not know. To my defense, the glass was outside of the protective gate, which is usually not the case.

Of course there were a ton of people around, so I played it off and just kept looking at the sunglasses until I felt it had been long enough for all the people that saw me to have walked by.

Now my excuse should be that it was dark out, but I'm not sure how well that would go over considering there are 82 billion streetlights, 43 million cars with bright headlights, and 72 thousand lit-up storefronts. So yeah, it wasn't that dark at all. I'm just a dumbass. And obviously blind. It was a really clean window people!!!

Say "I Love NY!"

This morning I found myself walking towards a handsome gay couple in Central Park snapping pictures of each other with the Plaza Hotel in the background. I generously offered to take a picture of both of them (strolling through the park calms me and makes me less bitchy). They took me up on my offer and posed, arms around each other, big smiles on their faces...I must've got a little caught up in the moment b/c I smiled brightly at them and said, "Say, 'I LOVE NY!'" to which THEY DID NOT RESPOND.

Who do I think I am? How touristy of me! So touristy, even the tourists thought I was nuts!

Sunday Sighting

Do I have to change my stance on the Central Park drinking fountains if I saw Ethan Hawke drinking out of one this past weekend?

We were babysitting 'boyfriend's' nephew, and we went to a playground in the park where Mr. Hawke was with his kids (he looks like a pretty cool dad, btw). He was in deep convo with what appeared to be his buddy, and he must've been parched. I also saw moms letting their kids drink from this fountain. I even saw 'boyfriend' let nephew drink from this fountain. Is it ok if the fountain is in a playground? If Ethan and moms and kids are drinking from it, is it ok?

I think I need to further research this subject.

Central Park Drinking Fountains

I see way too many people drinking out of the water fountains in Central Park. I know when it's hot outside and you've been walking/running/skipping/gallivanting for miles, that a nice piss-warm sip of water is just what you think you need to quench your thirst, but I would REEEEALLY rethink that if I were you.

I've seen homeless people use it as a urinal. I've seen people let their dogs lick it in the scorching summer heat. I've even spied a piece of poo in one before.

And I'm not just talking about people who don't know, like tourists. Runners are sucking on those things like it's their job. You live in NY! You've seen things here that you don't want to see! Like naked men outside of Port Authority swinging their junk around. And people taking dumps on the street (I haven't seen that, but I know someone who did). Why on earth would you think that icky, nasty, yucky things have not happened to, on or otherwise to those fountains!?!?

You can't say I didn't warn you.

Although, if you're a hypochondriac and carry Lysol wipes around with you and want to wipe it down b/f you take a swig, then maybe it's ok. And that's a big MAYBE.

Husband Called...

Luckily for me, 'boyfriend' found this almost as funny as I did. Kinda makes me want to get married. Like now.
